Thin, convoluted sheet overlying substrate. | Tan-cream alive, beige in ethanol. | Not visible. | Soft, spongy, compressible, Easily torn. | Translucent, membranous, Even, choanosomal fibres visible below surface. | Regular reticulation of moderately light, homogeneous spongin fibres cored by uni- or paucispicular tracts of oxeas. Only vague resemblance of rectangular reticulation recognisable. Little homogeneous mesohyl collagen irregularly dispersed throughout. Very few loose spicules. | Paucispicular, tangential layer of oxeas obscured by plumose, paucispicular brushes of oxeas. | Oxeas | Sigmas (Rare) |
