Morphological description (show/hide)
pedunculate | exterior brown on one side, slightly more beige on the other, interior white (in ethanol). | small, flush with surface, very regularly distributed, cover one side only | firm, dense, not very compressible, slightly flexible | one side smooth to touch, grossly undulating, outer surface undulating, microconulose, beige choanosome visible where cut, thick yellow fibres prominent in choanosome | very large sand grains throughout, no localisation in fibres | uniform, thick, sandy | nil | nil |

very similar to Psammocinia halmiformis (Lendenfeld, 1888), but pedunculate rather than irregularly cup-shaped. Skeleton is also very different to that of P. Halmiformis |
