Massive | Light gray to white | Dark brown | Elastic, but it breaks easily | Strongly conulose surface | Fibres (40-150 um long) not distinguishable as primary or secondary are cored with foreign detritus and create a fairly regular web | On the sponge surface, foreign sand grains and spicules are often organized in parallel tracts (about 50-140 um in diameter) creating a regular web, visible at the naked-eye |
