Morphological description (show/hide)
white | white | The choanomsoal skeleton consists of large slightly sagittal triactines, arranged mostly in an onordered fashion, but in some cases with the paired actines facing towards the artrial cavity, the unpaired actine facint towards the cortex. Smaller tetractines support the atrial wall, with a short apical actine reaching into the atrial cavity. | A layer of large triactines forms the cortex. Some larger diactines are arranged perpendicular to the surface, protruding the outer surface of the sponge. | Cortical triactines, cortical diactines, choanosomal triactines, atrial tetratines with short apical actine. |
