Thickly encrusting, low set papillose projections on upper surface, formed by close-set erect fibre columns. | Bright red alive. | Sunken, amongst fibre columns. | Harsh, compressible, spiky. | Highly papillore, roughened. | Reticulate, plumo-reticulate, tracts of styles, oxeas or rhabdostyles [300880], forming distinct skeketal columns, with plumose styles or rhabdostyles embedded near periphery, moderate light collagen, light fibres. | Hispid, with plumose projecting styles erect on surface. | acanthostyles: verticillate, ~130–180 × 3–10 um, acanthoxeas: ~130–180 × 3–10 um. | Nil. |
